Wildlife photography is an art persuaded by many, for the love of our natural heritage or self-satisfaction and even as professional photographers. Kanha Tiger Reserve is one of the most famous national parks of the world which is visited by all genres of wildlife photographers to photo-document its wilderness and free roaming wild animals. Flora and fauna of Kanha forests have always attracted photographers from all over the world to photograph tiger and other wild animals we can see freely in this beautiful forest landscape.

Day 1: You reach Kanha Village Eco Resort by noon where you get a warm traditional welcome. After orientation about Kanha national park and its flora and fauna we prepare for the cming photography tour which will start from first safari in the core are from tomorrow.

Day 2: Our 4 x 4 Gypsy is ready in the morning to take us inside the tiger reserve. Our guide and driver are all well trained with the nuances of the forest and its wildlife. They will locate tiger and other animals for us to photograph them. Kanha tiger reserve is divided into zones for management purpose of which some part of four zones namely Kanha, Kisli, Sarhi and Mukki are open for tourism. We will be visiting these zones one at a time in each safari.

                At noon we leave for our second wildlife safari inside the national park. We can expect to see leopard, sloth bear, spotted deer, sambhar deer, Barking deer and many other animals. Our safari ends before sunset when we are back to the resort to discuss about the day.

Day 3: Early morning we leave for our third safari inside Kanha tiger reserve. We keep packed breakfast with us to have inside the park in designated areas. Morning are known as one of the best time to spot wildlife and especially photograph them due to soft morning lighting. Kanha has 22 species of mammal species and we will try to find most of them to photograph. Hard ground swamp deer or Barasingha – the twelve tinned deer found at Kanha is endemic to this forest. We may be able to photograph them in group or wading in water eating water plants.

                We leave for noon safari where our driver and guide will try to locate some more animals for us especially once which we have been missing. Kanha tiger reserve is home to some very elusive mammals of which some are nocturnal and we may not be able to spot them but will certainly try to do so. Jungle cat, Jackal, Wild boar and Gaur are some which we can see and photograph very comfortably.

Day 4: On our 5th Safari inside the national park today we will try to capture the family life and habit of wild animals. Wildlife photography is a very important source of information to understand our wildlife and study them further. Kanha forest preserve has more than 1000 flowering plants and some very good water bodies which attract many birds and till now 259 species of our flying friends have been recorded here. We will be able to photograph may bird species of all types including some rare once like Paradise fly catcher, Oriole, Brown fish owl, Indian scoops owl, forest owlet, vultures, eagles, parakeets and many others.

                At noon we go for our next safari to capture some rare images of free roaming wildlife of Central India. After designated as a tiger reserve Kanha forests have become one of the biggest resource for saving rare flora and fauna. Evenings are best around meadows or grass lands of Kanha where chances of spotting wild animals to observe and photograph is very high.

Day 5: A good photograph is worth 1000 words and can help us in covert many people to save our natural heritage and turn towards conservation. We will try to capture those rare moment which may elicit love and emotions to save our natural habitat flora and fauna. Today is our 7th safari in the core area of this world famous tiger reserve. If we keep our photography tour in winters chances of spotting migratory birds increases a lot. In March – April when most trees flower especially the fig and mahua trees chances of spotting and photographing local birds are at the highest. At noon we will take our 8th ride inside the park.

Day 6: We will be going in the core area on our 4 x 4 Gypsy accompanied by our guide and naturalist for our last day at the park. With spotting and photographing the king of the forest – Tiger at the fore front of our photo tour we have also photographed other flora and fauna of Kanha. Today’s morning and noon safaris will be our last try in this tour to shoot some rare photograph. We will always keep an open eye to never miss any good opportunity of photographing wild animals of Kanha. We are sure by end of the tour we will have enough photographs to keep us enthralled for some time till Kanha forests again start calling us back.

                Daily in the evening we will be discussing on the photograph we have taken and on how to improve them with our fellow photographers and expert available at the resort. This will help us in improving our skills and further better our photography to next level.

Day 7: Today we are leaving after 5 full days full of adventure and lots of photographs. Interested once can get up bit early to photograph butterflies and insects. Kanha has 117 known species of butterflies and many of them can be photographed depending on season. In last few days we have covered almost all nooks and corners of Kanha open to tourism. I know, it is bit difficult to leave this beautiful tiger country but we have to show our photographs to the world and convert more and more people to become wildlife enthusiasts to back the conservation effort.

We have specially designed photography tour packages for wildlife photographers of all cadre wherein they will get an opportunity to spot the rare wild animals while photo-documenting them and enjoy the wilderness adventure at Kanha national park. In our photography tour package only 4 people go in every gypsy and not 6 as normally used capacity for tourism purpose.
