Delhi – Bandhavgarh – Kanha – Pench – Delhi (13 Nights /14 Days)

Wildlife photography is an art and science which people enjoy not just for its experience but also the satisfaction one gets in spotting one of those moments we want to keep memorable for all. Photographing wildlife needs a lot of patience and through understanding of the animal or bird we want to photograph. Tigers are one of the most photographed mammal on earth and still we get some new shot which revels something new about this magnificent animal. Photo-documentation as we call is helps us in further understanding the specie as well as its relationship with other animas and the whole bio-diversity.

Photographing tigers in the wild is an experience no photographer would ever like to miss be an amateur or professional. Here in our photography tour package of central India we are covering 3 most beautiful forests of India and will get a chance to photograph Tigers and other free roaming wild animals in their natural habitat - the forest. In our wildlife photography tour package we will get a chance to experience raw wilderness as it is. A photography tour to Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Pench tiger reserves will surely help you in getting those rare moments which you will cherish for ever.

Day 1: On reaching Delhi, the capital of India you are escorted to your hotel. We will stay in Delhi overnight to ward off jet lag which will enable us to enjoy our holiday more. More adventurous once can take a tour of Delhi and visit historical buildings and museums to understand Indian history. Delhi is perfect gateway to understand the culture of India.

Day 2: Our flight for Jabalpur is early morning so be ready on time. It will take us 4 hours by vehicle to reach Bandhavgarh national park from the airport. We will check in at the resort and take some rest. After a brief orientation program about central Indian wildlife and our tour we will leave for a Jungle walk in the buffer forest area. Bandhavgarh forests have a long history of protection under the royal family of Rewa and later on under government of India.

Bandhavgarh fort, inside the tiger reserve is believed to have hidden within its ruins history of almost 5000 years. Archaeological importance of artefacts spread over is very high.  

Day 3:    Keep your camera gear ready, from today our photography tour starts. We will take safaris in the core area of the tiger reserve. There are 2 safaris daily – early morning and at noon. Bandhavgarh forests are famous for the first white tiger cub which was captured alive and reared by Maharaja Martand Singh ji of Rewa. Wildlife tourism in Bandhavgarh is allowed in 3 zones - Tala, Magdhi and Khitoli.

Day 4:    Charger the famous tiger of Central India lived in this forests. Along with tigers you can expect to see and photograph Leopard, Sloth bear, Barking deer, Spotted deer, wild dogs and many other animals. Bandhavgarh is known to have highest density of tigers of any tiger reserves in India and spotting a tiger here is said to be very easy. We have a morning and a noon safari excursion inside the core area of Bandhavgarh tiger reserve. Accompanied by our guide and driver we will visit the park in search of the king of the forest - Tiger. Gaur the biggest bovine found in the wild and had gone extinct from Bandhavgarh have been reintroduced recently and you may be able to see and photograph them.

Day 5:    Wildlife photography is an art which needs lots of patience and knowledge of wild animals. Bandhavgarh forests boast of almost 270 bird species with many residents and others migratory. Well managed forest with good water holes and dense forest interspersed with grasslands helps in keeping high number of bird species attracted to these forests. You can expect to see Eagles, Owls, Bee eaters, Babbers, Storks and many more land birds and water fowls.

Day 6: Today we leave for Kanha national park after breakfast, a 5 hours drive through picturesque landscape will take you to KanhaVillage Eco Resort where we will be staying. In the evening we will go for a Jungle walk to understand the biodiversity better and to see and photograph those small members of biodiversity we miss when on Gypsy.

Day 7:    We will have 6 safaris in the core area of tiger reserve with 3 morning and 3 noon once. Here we will get chance to click the striped cat and other free roaming wildlife. With lots of water bodies, grass lands and different species of trees Kanha has 22 mammal, 259 bird and 117 butterfly species along with others.

Day 8:    Kanha is famous for Hard ground Barasingha or twelve tinned swamp deer which has adopted itself to the plains of Central India. These are one of the rarest deer’s in the world and endemic to Kanha national park. We can expect to spot Tigers, Leopard, Jungle cat, Wild dogs, Jackals, Hyena, Foxes, Spotted deer, Sambhar deer, Barking deer and many other animals. Kanha meadows or the central grasslands in Kanha national park are famous for its tiger sightings. Forest department maintains a museum here which is very educative and worth a visit.

Day 9:    Photographing wildlife is an art which needs lots of patience and good understanding of local wildlife. You will get a chance to photograph many of our flying friends – birds. Grey Hornbill, Peacock, Babblers, Parakeets, Munias, Lapwing, Eagles and many more can be spotted and photographed. Kanha forests have a perfect mix of dense forest, grasslands and water bodies which enable us to spot many varieties of birds. River Banjar flows through the forest before moving on and mixing with holy river Narmada. In Kanha we are allowed to visit four zones which are open for tourism namely - Kanha, Kisli, Sarhi and Mukki.

Day 10: After a brief jungle walk to click some of our flying friends we will have our breakfast at the resort before leaving for Pench tiger reserve, a 3 hours journey by road. Pench is a dry deciduous forest with teak being the major flora along with lots of fruiting trees like Mango, Guava, Mahua, Aamla, Jack fruit, Berries and like. It is a beautiful tiger country divided between states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Day 11: On our morning safari we will spot tigers, sloth bear, leopard, spotted deer, sambhar deer, Gaur, Jackal, Wild cat and other mammals and birds. Pench has a landscape which makes it easy to spot and photograph wildlife. A relatively new entrant under the umbrella of tiger conservation reserves Pench has catched up very fast and today has become one of the major destinations to spot tigers.

Day 12: Pench tiger reserve is also known for its bird life and is a very well-known place to photograph birds. You can spot scavenger and predator birds with ease and photograph them from relatively close quarters.

Day 13: With 6 safaris to click Tiger and other wildlife at Pench we will enjoy a very different forest from the first two we visited. A beautiful tiger country you are going to enjoy your photography tour here.

Day 14: Today we take some rest in the morning before leaving for Nagpur after Lunch to catch our flight to Delhi. We move on to International Airport to catch our flight home with lots and lots of beautiful photographs to show to our family and friends.
